On October 9, 2025, Rights Centre NGO summarized the results of the project “From Training to Impact: Enhancing Report Submission Skills for Armenian NGOs”. The discussion was attended by representatives of civil society organizations.
As a result of the project, several alternative reports were prepared and submitted within the frameworks of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), to the UN Committee Against Torture, the UN Working Group on Discrimination Against Women and Girls, the Council of Europe’s Steering Committee on Anti-Discrimination, Diversity and Inclusion, and the European Committee of Social Rights.
In addition, correspondence concerning the implementation of ECHR judgments was submitted to the Committee of Ministers, specifically regarding the cases of Makuchyan and Minasyan v. Azerbaijan (No. 17247/13) and Khojoyan and Vardazaryan v. Azerbaijan (No. 62161/14).
Within the framework of the project, activities were carried out to raise awareness about human rights protection mechanisms. Rights Centre NGO also provided support and consultations during the preparation of the reports.
The discussion was opened by Artak Kirakosyan, President of the Civil Society Institute NGO, and Tatevik Gharibyan, Program Director of the Rights Centre NGO.
Anna Maralyan, President of the Rights Centre NGO, presented the correspondence related to the ECHR judgments. As a result of the correspondence in the case of Makuchyan and Minasyan v. Azerbaijan, the Committee of Ministers adopted an interim resolution. Following this, Mushegh Hovsepyan, President of the Disability Rights Agenda NGO, Nvard Piliposyan, Lawyer at the Women’s Resource Center, and Shushan Khnkoyan, Lawyer at the New Generation Humanitarian NGO, presented the alternative reports.
The discussion concluded with a Q&A session.
