On October 13, 2025, the Rights Center NGO conducted a training at the Justice Academy focused on gender-sensitive judicial proceedings.
The session was led by the co-authors of the training manual — Lisa Grigoryan, Judge of the Court of Cassation, and Ani Vardanyan, judicial expert and psychologist.
The purpose of the training was to pilot the preliminary version of a new manual, developed by experts to address gender-sensitive issues in criminal, civil, and administrative proceedings.
During the session, Ani Vardanyan discussed the psychological aspects, while Lisa Grigoryan highlighted civil law challenges.
The training was organized by the Rights Center NGO within the sub-grant project “Improving the Judicial Response to Gender-Based and Domestic Violence Cases in Armenia”, implemented under the “EQUAL – EU for Women Empowerment in Armenia” program. The initiative is carried out by the OxYGen Foundation, European Partnership for Democracy, Netherlands Helsinki Committee, Women’s Support Center NGO, and WINNET Goris Development Foundation, in cooperation with Winnet Sweden.
The project is funded by the European Union.
